“Our Yard” - Khatai (X. Mammadov Street)
The "Our Yard" project, aimed at the improvement of neglected courtyards, continues successfully under the joint organization of the IDEA Public Union and the "Cavan" Youth Movement Public Union, with the support of district executive authorities of Baku city.
On December 19, the next renovated courtyard was opened for residents’ use within the framework of the "Our Yard" project. The renewed courtyard covers buildings at Xudu Mammadov 4-4a in the Khatai district, housing nearly 400 residents.
The main goal of the "Our Yard" project is to model ecologically clean and well-maintained courtyards, restore greenery, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.
With the support of the Khatai District Executive Authority of Baku city, the courtyard renovated within the "Our Yard" project, covering an area of 3,200 m², was designed to ensure comfortable movement for people with disabilities and limited mobility. Play elements, sports equipment, and three seating areas were installed to provide favorable conditions for the development of children of all age groups. The main aim of creating such spaces is to encourage young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, strengthen their health, spend their leisure time effectively, and develop a habit of regular exercise.
Taking into account the residents’ requests and interests, the facades and entrances of the buildings were fully renovated and made available for use. In addition to restoring existing greenery in the yard, 50 trees and shrubs were planted, and greenery was arranged on an area of 500 m². Surveillance cameras were also installed to ensure the safety of the residents.
It should be noted that the "Our Yard" project was launched at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union. The courtyard in the Khatai district is the ninth renovated courtyard made available to residents under the project.
The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations about courtyards in the capital that need improvement are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
