"Our Yard" - Yasamal District, Parliament Avenue

On January 28, the next courtyard renovated within the framework of the "Our Courtyard" project by the IDEA Public Union, aimed at improving yards in need of repair, was opened for residents' use.

The newly renovated courtyard covers three buildings at 2B, 4, and 6A Parliament Avenue in the Yasamal district, where 600 residents live.

The main goal of the "Our Courtyard" project is to make Baku’s courtyards ecologically clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city’s ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.

In the renovated courtyard, the ease of movement for people with disabilities and limited health capabilities was taken into account. Facilities were created for children’s development across all age groups, and various sports equipment, a chess area, a bicycle path, and a playground were installed to ensure that young people spend their leisure time effectively and develop a habit of systematic sports activity.

Additionally, two conversation areas were built, and benches and trash bins were installed.

Taking residents’ wishes and interests into account, new lighting poles were installed in the courtyard, the facades, roofs, and entrances of the buildings were fully renovated, new iron doors and new elevators were installed in the blocks. Along with restoring the existing greenery in the courtyard, 30 additional trees and shrubs were planted, and a green strip covering 500 sq.m. was created. Surveillance cameras were also installed to ensure residents’ safety.

The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations about courtyards in our capital that need improvement are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
