"Our Yard" – Yasamal District, Yeni Yasamal settlement

On September 20, within the framework of the “Bizim həyət” project of the IDEA Public Union aimed at improving courtyards in need of renovation, another renewed courtyard was opened for residents.
In Yasamal District, Yeni Yasamal settlement, 2nd massif, it covers two 10-block buildings where 1,400 residents live.
The main purpose of the “Bizim həyət” project is to ensure that Baku courtyards are clean and well-maintained from an environmental standpoint, to restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city’s ecology, to promote a healthy lifestyle, and to create a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.
In the newly renovated courtyard, convenient movement for people with disabilities and limited physical capabilities has been taken into account, favorable conditions have been created for the development of children of all age groups, and, in order to ensure efficient leisure time for young people and develop in them the habit of regular sports, an artificial-turf mini football field, a chess area, various sports facilities, and a children’s playground have been built, and a 100-meter bicycle path has been laid.
At the same time, 4 pergolas have been constructed in the area, and numerous benches and waste bins have been installed.
Taking into account the wishes and interests of the residents, new lighting poles have been installed in the courtyard, the facades, roofs, and entrance sections of the buildings have been fully repaired, and new iron doors and plastic windows have been installed in the blocks. Along with the restoration of existing greenery in the courtyard, an additional 50 trees and shrubs have been planted, and a 160 sq.m green zone has been created. Surveillance cameras have also been installed in the area to ensure the safety of residents.
The courtyard handed over to residents in Yasamal District is the thirty-first courtyard renovated within the project.
It is planned to implement this project in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and recommendations about courtyards in our capital that require improvement are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
