“Our Yard” – Yeni Yasamal Residential Area 2

On December 8, within the framework of the “Our Yard” project, implemented at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, another renovated yard was handed over for use by residents.

The renovated yard covers buildings at 2 Yeni Yasamal residential area in Yasamal district of Baku, where 2,000 residents live.

The main goal of the “Our Yard” project is to make Baku’s courtyards ecologically clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city’s ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.

In the newly renovated yard, accessibility for people with disabilities and limited mobility has been ensured, favorable conditions for children’s development across all age groups have been created, and various sports facilities, a football and chess field, and a playground for children have been established to encourage youth to spend their leisure time productively and develop a habit of regular exercise. A water fountain has also been installed. Three gazebos have been built in the yard, and benches, trash bins, and birdhouses have been installed.

Taking into account residents’ wishes and interests, new lighting poles have been installed in the yard, new elevators have been fitted in the buildings, and the buildings’ facades, roofs, and entrances have been fully renovated. In addition to restoring the existing greenery, 30 new trees have been planted while strictly following quarantine rules.

In the renovated yard, medical and preventive measures have been implemented in accordance with quarantine requirements, disinfectant dispensers have been installed, and informational boards have been placed to remind residents to follow quarantine rules.

The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and suggestions regarding courtyards in need of renovation in the capital are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
