On December 8, within the framework of the “Our Yard” project initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, another renovated yard was opened for residents’ use.

The renewed yard covers the buildings inhabited by 2,000 residents at 2 Yeni Yasamal Residential Complex, Yasamal district, Baku.

The main goal of the “Our Yard” project is to make Baku’s yards environmentally clean and well-maintained, restore greenery that forms the backbone of the city’s ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.

In the newly renovated yard, the mobility of persons with disabilities and limited health abilities has been considered. Various sports equipment, a football and chess field, and a playground for children have been installed to provide favorable conditions for child development across all age groups, as well as to encourage youth to spend their leisure time productively and develop a habit of systematic sports. A water fountain has also been installed. Three gazebos have been built, and benches, trash bins, and birdhouses have been placed throughout the yard.

Taking into account residents’ requests and interests, new lighting poles have been installed in the yard, new elevators have been installed in the buildings, and the building facades, roofs, and entrances have been fully renovated. In addition to restoring existing greenery in the yard, 30 additional trees were planted while observing special quarantine measures.

In the renewed yard, medical and preventive measures were implemented in accordance with quarantine requirements, disinfection dispensers were installed, and informative boards were placed to remind residents to comply with quarantine rules.

The project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. In this regard, information and suggestions regarding yards in the capital that need renovation are requested to be submitted to the IDEA Public Union.
