The presentation ceremony of the IDEA campaign was held in the House of Lords of the UK Parliament.

In the House of Lords of the UK Parliament, a presentation ceremony of the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) campaign, led by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, took place. An official reception in honor of Leyla Aliyeva presenting the IDEA campaign was organized by Lord Muhammad Sheikh.

The event presenting the IDEA campaign was opened by Omar Farooq, Executive Director of the UK’s EcoMuslim environmental organization, who delivered a speech.

Highlighting the key directions of modern Azerbaijan’s development and recent environmental initiatives in the country, Omar Farooq emphasized the main areas of activity of the IDEA campaign and the relevance of this initiative for the South Caucasus countries.

Subsequently, Lord Muhammad Sheikh spoke, underlining the significance of the presentation and noting the growing role and strengthened position of Azerbaijan in regional and global politics in recent years. Touching on the country’s recent history, Lord Muhammad Sheikh provided extensive information about geoeconomic, transport, and energy projects implemented with active Azerbaijani participation. He then spoke about Azerbaijan’s modern development, as well as economic and political initiatives carried out in the country in recent years.

The event was attended by members of the UK Parliament, representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in the country, representatives of various environmental organizations, as well as Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyngulu Baghirov, a representative of the Presidential Administration, and Vice-President for Environmental Affairs of the State Oil Company Rafika Huseynzade.

Later, Leyla Aliyeva, the initiator of the IDEA campaign, delivered a speech.

Leyla Aliyeva provided detailed information on the environmental projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. She also spoke about new projects planned within the campaign framework and cooperation with the UN Development Program to engage Azerbaijani youth in the “Rio+20” conference.

At the end of the official reception, Leyla Aliyeva presented Lord Muhammad Sheikh with commemorative gifts representing Azerbaijan on behalf of the Azerbaijani delegation.
