A new cleanup campaign was organized at Buzovna beach.

On September 16, IDEA Public Union and “Təmiz Şəhər” JSC organized the 8th traditional coastal cleanup campaign. The campaign took place at the Buzovna beach area.

With the participation of more than 200 volunteers, the main goal of the event was to promote cleanliness on the seashores, prevent the littering of coastal areas with household waste, and engage all young people in the fight for the protection of the marine environment.

During the event, participants, equipped with necessary sanitary supplies, collected more than 4 tons of waste from the beach. Afterwards, the waste was sorted to identify the most commonly observed litter on the beaches. To organize the waste collection process more efficiently, special equipment (small tractors) was also involved in the area. Later, all the collected waste was handed over to the Balakhani Municipal Solid Waste Sorting Plant.

As in previous campaigns, this event also attracted wide public interest, with individuals representing private companies and diplomatic missions in our country, as well as youth from Baku State University, Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Baku Slavic University, and secondary education institutions voluntarily joining IDEA’s initiative.

Focusing particularly on educational activities, IDEA Public Union, together with local and international partners, regularly organizes cleanup campaigns on the Caspian coast, the Kura and other rivers to conserve, increase, and protect Azerbaijan’s and the region’s water bioresources.

Considering the negative impact of waste on the environment, including the damage and losses to biodiversity caused by waste, IDEA Public Union and Təmiz Şəhər JSC call on everyone not to pollute our Planet and to take care of the environment!
