The presentation of the international ecological competition "Eco Picture Diary 2013" has been held.

On November 1, at the Heydar Aliyev Center, the presentation ceremony of the "Eco Picture Diary 2013" international competition, held among schoolchildren in Azerbaijan for the first time, took place. The initiative was organized by the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) campaign, founded by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, under the auspices of UNESCO, with support from the Heydar Aliyev Center and Panasonic CIS.
Launched on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of the IDEA campaign, this competition, which Azerbaijan has joined from now on, started in 2008 and covers 51 countries worldwide.
The aim of the "Eco Picture Diary 2013" international competition is to foster and develop a love for nature among the younger generation, strengthen ecological awareness among them, and mobilize schoolchildren to participate in environmental protection efforts. The project also serves to form an active civic stance on protecting the environment and human health.
The competition, which will continue from November 1 to 15, will cover the cities of Baku and Ganja.
At the presentation ceremony held at the Heydar Aliyev Center, 314 general education schools from the capital, Baku, were represented.
Students representing the lower (ages 6–11) and middle (ages 12–15) age groups of general education schools can participate in the competition. Participants must depict a drawing related to ecology and a brief description of its idea in a specially prepared "Eco Diary" for the contest. A total of 5,000 "Eco Diaries" have been prepared for Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that the "Eco Diaries," which will be distributed through teachers in Baku and Ganja from November 1, must be submitted by November 15. The submitted "Eco Diaries" will be evaluated by a panel of judges.
