On December 29, at the Nizami Cinema Center, the presentation of the documentary film “Goygol National Park,” produced within the framework of IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) Public Union’s project “9 Wonders of Azerbaijan,” took place.

Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of IDEA Public Union, attended the presentation.

Before the film presentation, Leyla Aliyeva visited an exhibition of photographs taken during the filming by Igor Bishnyov, the director of “Goygol National Park.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Igor Bishnyov expressed his gratitude to Leyla Aliyeva, the initiator of the “Goygol National Park” project, and shared his impressions of the filming process with the guests. He noted that starting the meetings here with the trailer of the next film is a very beautiful tradition. Igor Bishnyov stated that the project was implemented by IDEA Public Union.

The director said: “The first film within the project was ‘Shirvan National Park,’ presented last year, the second film was the documentary ‘Bird Paradise – Aghgol National Park,’ presented in April of this year. Today, I am very glad that at the end of the year the documentary film ‘Goygol National Park’ is being presented.”

Highlighting that Goygol National Park was established in 1925, I. Bishnyov noted that this film is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the park’s creation.

Igor Bishnyov emphasized that the first two films made within the project were solely devoted to nature, while the documentary “Goygol National Park” is not only about nature but also about Azerbaijan’s centuries-old culture and an archaeological tragedy.

The director noted that it is a very pleasant event that President Ilham Aliyev personally participates in the openings of national parks in Azerbaijan.

Igor Bishnyov expressed his gratitude to the project leader Leyla Aliyeva, stating that collaborating with IDEA is very interesting. He stressed that educating children ecologically within IDEA Public Union is a very important issue.

He congratulated everyone on the New Year and the 90th anniversary of Goygol National Park, saying that let this film be a gift for the holidays.

Within the framework of IDEA’s “9 Wonders of Azerbaijan” project, it is planned to produce documentary films about 9 national parks of the country. These films will cover Shahdag, Hirkan, Altiagach, Zangazur, Absheron, and Samur-Yalama National Parks.

At the initiative of IDEA Public Union, the film “Goygol National Park” will be screened at higher education institutions in Azerbaijan, as well as at the Union’s Resource Centers in Baku and Ganja. Additionally, it is planned to show the film “Goygol National Park” in other countries and within various international events.

It should be noted that the film “Aghgol National Park,” produced within the framework of the “9 Wonders of Azerbaijan” project, was awarded the “Television Project of the Year” at the XIX International Ecological Television Festival “Save and Protect,” held on June 17, 2015, in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.

The goal of IDEA’s “9 Wonders of Azerbaijan” project is to promote the country’s enchanting natural beauty both domestically and abroad, as well as to highlight the importance of environmental protection.
