On March 18, 2015, the IDEA Public Union and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan launched the "Let's Turn Every Paper into a Leaf" project.

Within the framework of the project, collection points for used paper were set up in front of ASAN Service Centers located in Baku and the regions. In addition, the “Azersun” company organized the collection of more than 300 kg of paper waste from addresses using special vehicles.

Since the launch of the project, it has attracted significant interest from state institutions, the private sector, and citizens. According to the latest calculations at ASAN Service centers and the most recent data provided by “Azersun,” more than 60 tons of paper waste have already been collected under the project.

The IDEA Public Union expresses its gratitude to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Social Protection Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, "Unicef" Azerbaijan, SOCAR Environmental Department, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical College, National Aviation Academy, ANAS Zoology Institute, Azad Azerbaijan TV, Azerbaijan State Publishing House - "Azerneşr," Baku city schools No. 21 and 298, "Aselsan-Baku" company, TURAN Bank PJSC, Ganja City Department of Culture and Tourism, Ganja Abbas Səhhət Hospital, Ganja vocational lyceums No. 2 and 3, Ganja Debate Center, Naftalan city school No. 1, Ganja State University, Sumgayit City Education Department, as well as other state institutions, private organizations, and citizens who handed in used paper regardless of quantity, for their active participation in the project.

It should be noted that according to the project, for every 50 kg of paper collected, one tree is planned to be purchased and planted. Thus, the 60 tons of collected paper waste will allow 1,200 trees to be planted in our next tree-planting campaign.

The main goal of this nationwide project is to reduce paper waste and promote recycling, thereby protecting trees, preserving nature, and maintaining ecological balance. We invite you to join us in achieving this goal by contributing your paper waste to participate in the project!
