A tree-planting campaign was held on the joint initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the IDEA Public Union.

On the joint initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) Public Union, a tree-planting campaign took place in the Narimanov district of Baku city. During the campaign, 30 pine trees were planted to replace the 22 Eldar pines and olive trees that were destroyed as a result of a fire at the address at the intersection of T. Shikhaliyev 20 and K. Kazimzade 7 streets on June 5, 2014.

The main purpose of the campaign was to restore the green belt that was destroyed during the fire, contribute to the restoration of the ecological balance of the area, accelerate the improvement of the ecological environment, enrich the existing soil layer, and promote ecological culture and a sense of care for nature among people.

In addition to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA, representatives of the Narimanov District Executive Authority also participated in the tree-planting campaign.

It should be noted that to date, more than 3,472,000 trees have been planted in Azerbaijan by the IDEA Public Union. Through the regular organization of such ecological campaigns, the Union emphasizes the importance of environmental protection to the public, especially the younger generation, and calls them to joint action in addressing ecological problems.
