The IDEA international ecological campaign helps restore the ecosystem of the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

In the capital of Kyrgyzstan and other major cities, swallow nests are being installed in city parks according to the sketch of the winner of the IDEA campaign competition. The installation of swallow nests, which play an important role in restoring the ecological balance of cities, is dedicated to International Migratory Bird Day, celebrated every year on April 1.

The winner of the best swallow nest competition announced by IDEA last May was 26-year-old designer Tatyana Biryuqina from Kyrgyzstan.
“Designing a nest for birds that are very demanding of their homes was very interesting for me from a professional perspective,” Tatyana said.

Bishkek faces ecological system problems – the number of Afghan swallows, which peck at the eggs of local birds (sparrows, swifts), is increasing, which reduces the number of city birds. Human negative impact on the environment leads to serious degradation of the ecosystem and the destruction of plants and animals. Such a rapid decline in biodiversity also includes the extinction of certain bird species.

According to Elvira Sariyeva, a deputy of the Bishkek City Council (local self-government body), birds provide extremely valuable assistance in restoring the ecological balance of the city.
“These swallow nests will not solve all the problems of city birds, but at least they will help provide them with shelter,” she said.

Swallow nests designed according to the design of the winner of the competition announced by IDEA will be installed in the parks and residential areas of Baku, Vilnius, Moscow, and London in the spring.

As an international ecological campaign, IDEA draws the attention of the global community to global environmental issues.
