Launched at the initiative of the IDEA Public Union and attracting great interest from young people, the “Eco-Scout” project is successfully continuing. On January 25, a meeting was held with the new members of IDEA eco-scouts, whose number has reached 150 in a short period of time, at the Resource Center located in IDEA’s Zira Cultural Center.

It should be noted that the mentioned project was launched in March of last year. The aim of the project is to involve young people in nature conservation, encourage them to use the resources bestowed by nature economically and correctly, motivate them to study and protect the living world in depth, as well as to engage in beneficial environmental activities within society.

The IDEA eco-scout project provides young people with the opportunity to understand environmental problems that pose a threat to our planet and, by involving others in solving these problems, to participate in this public movement and become its leader.

During the meeting, young people who wish to become IDEA eco-scouts were provided with detailed information about the essence of the project, the responsibilities of eco-scouts, their principles of activity, daily eco-scout rules, ways to join the eco-scout club, ways to obtain membership cards and high-status cards, and the mechanism for accumulating points.

Approximately 30 young people who applied to join the project were given membership cards as well as a cap, backpack, and badge specially prepared by IDEA. Newly joined members will have the opportunity to collect points and increase their status by engaging in environmentally beneficial activities under the “Young Ecologist” status. Eco-scouts who collect a sufficient number of points will be considered to have advanced to the highest level and will be awarded certificates and valuable gifts by IDEA.

At the end of the meeting, new members who voluntarily applied to join the IDEA eco-scout project jointly took the “eco-scout oath.”
