IDEA launched the “Eko-scout” project

On March 27, the presentation of the “Eco-Scout” project, initiated by the IDEA Public Union, was held at the Zirə Cultural Center.
The aim of the project is to engage young people in the protection of nature, encourage them to use the resources provided by nature efficiently and correctly, to study and protect the living world in depth, and to motivate them to participate in useful ecological activities in society.
The IDEA Eco-Scout project provides young people with the opportunity to understand the ecological problems that threaten our planet, involve others in solving these problems, participate in this social movement, and become its leaders.
As the first stage of the project, active members of “Eco-clubs” operating in pilot secondary schools in Baku city were provided with detailed information at the IDEA Resource Center, located in the Zirə Cultural Center, about the essence of the project, the responsibilities of Eco-Scouts, their principles of activity, daily Eco-Scout rules, ways to join the Eco-Scout club, membership cards and high-status cards, and the mechanism for collecting points.
It should be noted that young people applying to join the club will receive a membership card and a specially prepared cap, backpack, and badge from IDEA. Newly joined members will be called “Young Ecologists” and will later have the opportunity to increase their status by engaging in environmentally beneficial activities and accumulating points. Eco-Scouts who collect enough points will be considered to have reached the highest level and will be awarded valuable gifts by IDEA.
At the end of the presentation ceremony, young people voluntarily applied to join the IDEA Eco-Scout project and, as the first members, took the joint “Eco-Scout Oath.” Afterwards, the Eco-Scouts watched the documentary film “Shirvan National Park,” produced within the framework of IDEA Public Union’s “9 Wonders of Azerbaijan” project, and planted flowers in the Eco-Park area of the Zirə Cultural Center.
This project will provide a favorable platform for young people to actively participate in solving ecological problems.
