IDEA Public Union invites nature-loving and talented young people aged 18-30 to participate in the international competition organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The competition is intended for young people with knowledge and skills in the field of ecology.

According to the competition rules, participants must demonstrate technological inventions, innovative and successful business models for a healthier Planet. As a result of the competition, six winners will be selected each year and will be titled "Young Champion of the Earth."

The selected winners will receive financial support of USD 15,000 for initial funding, participate in the UN Environment Assembly held in December 2017 in Nairobi, Kenya, and in the UN General Assembly in New York in September 2018 (all expenses covered), and will have the opportunity to attend the gala dinner organized for the "Young Champions of the Earth," meeting with ministers of ecology. In addition, the winners will be announced and showcased through the internet and international media, gain the opportunity to work with highly qualified specialists and trainers, and participate in individual training in areas such as communication, project planning, financial management, and more. The "Young Champions" will also benefit from a one-week intensive entrepreneurship course organized in Europe in the first quarter of 2018 (free of charge).

The "Young Champions of the Earth" competition is held not only to award prizes but also to support young ecologists with a bright future to take firmer steps toward their goals and to cultivate new leaders in the field of ecology.

Champions will also have the opportunity to meet UN experts, prominent figures who have made significant contributions to ecology, and get acquainted with new environmental startups. Additionally, they will receive support from expert groups composed of highly qualified mentors.

It should be noted that UNEP, established in 1972 based on a resolution of the UN General Assembly, aims to protect the environment and nature and to coordinate related actions. In May 2014, IDEA Public Union was accredited by UNEP and received observer status in this organization. With UNEP accreditation, IDEA gained the opportunity to participate in the work of UNEP’s governing bodies, including the UN Environment Assembly and its subsidiary organs.

IDEA calls on all high-potential young people to register as soon as possible.
