On November 10, the IDEA Animal Care Center was officially opened.

The opening ceremony was attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union.

Leyla Aliyeva familiarized herself with a photo display reflecting the various stages of the center's construction.

The Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation cut the ribbon, symbolizing the official opening of the center.

The foundation of the IDEA Animal Care Center was laid in October 2014. The center is intended for the examination and treatment of stray animals in Baku and surrounding areas, as well as for their short-term shelter. The shelter complex was built with the support of the European Azerbaijan Society, utilizing the experience of other countries. Experts from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in the United Kingdom were involved in the design and construction work. The center is planned to provide vaccination, sterilization, and, if necessary, surgical services for stray animals. The 24 shelters built in the center can accommodate over a thousand animals at the same time. Each shelter is also equipped with an adjacent walking area.

During her visit, Leyla Aliyeva viewed the treatment and rehabilitation facilities for sick animals. In addition to inpatient examination and treatment in the clinic and laboratory, the center has a mobile emergency medical service. Furthermore, a special team will be responsible for bringing injured or vaccination-required stray animals to the center. Stray animals treated at the center will be equipped with identifying microchips. For the first time in the country, an electronic database system for stray animals will also be established here. This system will allow monitoring of the animals and ensure they are vaccinated on time. Animals requiring long-term treatment will undergo rehabilitation in special quarantine units. The center's activities will also provide opportunities for the training of specialists in veterinary medicine and for the exchange of experience.

Professional veterinary training courses and workshops will be organized in the center's spacious conference hall. Extensive public awareness events will be held to promote compassionate treatment of stray animals and encourage their adoption. In this regard, school visits to the center will be arranged for educational purposes, and the center will remain open to the public, especially to volunteers. A complex displaying animals ready for adoption and a small animal hotel will also operate here. The center's services are not limited to stray animals. Animals under guardianship can also be brought to the center for examination, treatment, and short-term accommodation.

Later, Leyla Aliyeva visited the modern feed factory. This factory is the first in Azerbaijan to produce food for dogs and cats. The factory's products will meet international quality standards and will be made from healthy food ingredients.
