IDEA Public Association has obtained special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

At the meeting of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) held on April 13, the issue of IDEA’s membership in ECOSOC was considered, its initiatives implemented at the national, regional, and international levels were reviewed, and based on the unanimously adopted decision, IDEA Public Association was granted special consultative status with ECOSOC.

The consultative status allows IDEA Public Association to collaborate more closely and intensively with various UN bodies operating in different fields. In addition, as a member of the ECOSOC network, IDEA gains a number of privileges. As part of the UN family, IDEA Public Association will benefit from the experience of specialized UN organizations and support from global funds in its projects implemented at the national, regional, and international levels. IDEA is also entitled to participate in the approval and adoption of documents during meetings held at the UN headquarters, consult with various UN structural units and develop joint projects, propose project initiatives on issues within its scope of activity, bring ecological and health threats faced by our country and region to the attention of the international community, and exercise other rights.

Having become the leading organization in the region for environmental protection, IDEA Public Association intends, within the framework of the UN, to contribute to the promotion of sustainable development and environmental protection internationally, based on the principle of “One Planet – One Future.”
