Pollution and littering of coastal areas are considered one of the most pressing ecological problems of modern times. Non-compliance with cleanliness on beaches not only causes sanitary issues but also harms the marine environment, as well as its flora and fauna.

Unfortunately, this problem is observed in our country as it is worldwide. During the beach season, littering of the Caspian shores by visitors leads to many serious consequences.

Considering the urgency of the issue, the IDEA Public Union organizes social campaigns every year at Baku beaches with the participation of hundreds of young people. Continuing this tradition, on May 30, a cleaning campaign under the slogan “Let’s Keep Our Beaches Clean!” was held in the Buzovna beach area by the IDEA Public Union and “Clean City” JSC.

The purpose of the event was to collect waste in beach areas, engage young people in keeping nature clean, and at the same time encourage people not to litter.

During the campaign, participants were provided with equipment that met all sanitary standards and sorted the collected waste, identifying the most common types of litter found on the beaches. All waste was handed over to the Baku Balakhani Solid Household Waste Sorting Plant using special vehicles.

With the approach of the beach and recreation season, the IDEA Public Union calls on everyone to use the gifts of nature responsibly and to avoid harming the environment for the sake of the health of future generations.
