On World Environment Day, the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) campaign completed the ecological competition “The Future You Wish For.”

Launched on July 11, 2011, by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the IDEA campaign organized the final stage of the ecological multimedia competition “The Future You Wish For” on June 5 — World Environment Day — within the framework of the project “IDEA Lectures,” which involves holding lectures on ecology and sustainable development at higher education institutions in Azerbaijan.

The final stage of the competition began with student presentations, after which the jury selected the three best projects.

The winners were awarded gifts and certificates by the IDEA campaign.

At the end of the event, a “networking hour” was held for students at the newly opened Resource Center of the IDEA campaign at the Academy of Public Administration.

Students familiarized themselves with the activities of the Resource Center and presented initiatives while establishing new connections.

It should be noted that the ecological multimedia competition “The Future You Wish For” was launched in May. The competition was organized by the IDEA campaign together with the Student Youth Organization of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Within the framework of the “IDEA Lectures” project, in April, Professor Randal Baker from the University of Michigan (USA), on May 2, Doctor of Biological Sciences Mehman Akhundov at Azerbaijan University of Languages, on May 3, PhD in Ecological Sciences Firuzə Sultanzadə at Azerbaijan State University of Economics, and on May 4, Candidate of Chemical Sciences Ülviyyə Həsənova at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered lectures on ecological and sustainable development topics for students of the aforementioned educational institutions.
