IDEA campaign organized a seminar on the topic of “Global Food Security.”

Every year, hundreds of people around the world suffer from food shortages. The root cause of this problem is mainly the inefficient use of natural resources.

In the modern era, to explore solutions to the increasingly urgent issue of food security, which affects all corners of the world and occupies a primary place among global problems, and to convey to young people the importance of proper use of natural resources, the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) campaign held a seminar on “Global Food Security.” The seminar took place in the “Eco-Park” area located in the Gala village of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic.

The seminar, attended by more than 30 young people, began with a brief introduction to the activities of the SOCAR Eco-Park and continued with a lecture by an expert on global food security.

Azer Garayev, president of the Azerbaijan Society for the Protection of Animals, participated as an expert in the seminar. The expert noted that one of the causes of food shortages, one of the most critical issues of our time, is the depletion of forest resources.

The event continued with discussions among the youth, and the expert answered their questions related to the topic.

At the end, the young participants took part in planting plants in the greenhouse within the Eco-Park and got acquainted up close with the section of the Park where wind turbines are located.
