The IDEA campaign called on people to protect homeless animals.

The IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) campaign organized a scientific seminar on “Protection of Urban Biosenoses” with the aim of urging people to defend homeless animals. The seminar was dedicated to “Homeless Animals Day,” observed annually on August 16.
The seminar, organized interactively, was conducted with the expertise of Elchin Sultanov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Ornithological Society and Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Sciences.
During the seminar, it was noted that every year 5–7 million animals are placed in shelters designated for homeless animals worldwide. Despite such measures, 3–4 million homeless dogs and cats are destroyed annually. Humanity suffers significant loss from such casualties.
The IDEA campaign, which has made creating a regional and international cooperation network for environmental protection one of its main goals, calls on people worldwide to be more attentive to the conservation of plant and animal species, to understand the importance of biological balance, and to preserve it.
