With the support of the IDEA campaign, the "Earth Hour" campaign will be held in several cities of Azerbaijan.

On March 31 at 20:30, millions of people around the world will come together for one hour without using electricity – "Earth Hour."
The "Earth Hour" campaign was held for the first time in 2007 in Sydney. Every year, on the last Saturday of March, the lighting of buildings that are symbols of major cities participating in the campaign is turned off for one hour. In this way, participants declare their unity in protecting nature and fighting against climate change.
During the campaign, the illumination of magnificent structures such as the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramids of Egypt, Buckingham Palace, Sydney Opera House, and others is turned off for one hour worldwide. This year, 5,000 cities from 147 countries will join the campaign.
It should be noted that this campaign was held in Azerbaijan for the first time in 2011, and Azerbaijan became one of the 120 countries supporting the global campaign. This year, the "Earth Hour" campaign will be carried out in several cities of the country with the support of the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) campaign. In support of protecting the planet, in Baku, the lights of the city’s symbols – the Maiden Tower, the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, Park Bulvar, Hilton Hotel, Bridge Plaza, and Azerbaijan Technical University – located in the "Icherisheher" State Historical-Architectural Reserve will be turned off for one hour. In addition to the capital, Ganja, Lankaran, and Lahij will also join the campaign.
The country’s largest "Earth Hour" event will take place on March 31 at 20:00 with the turning off of the lights of the Maiden Tower.
