With the support of the IDEA campaign, the "Earth Hour" campaign will be held in several cities of Azerbaijan.

On March 31 at 20:30, millions of people around the world will come together for one hour without electricity – "Earth Hour."
The "Earth Hour" campaign was first held in 2007 in Sydney. Every year, on the last Saturday of March, the lighting of iconic buildings in major cities that join the campaign is turned off for one hour. Through this, participants of the campaign declare their unity in protecting nature and combating climate change.
During the campaign, the lighting of magnificent structures around the world, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramids of Egypt, Buckingham Palace, the Sydney Opera House, and others, is turned off for one hour. This year, 5,000 cities from 147 countries will participate in the campaign.
It should be noted that in Azerbaijan, this campaign was held for the first time in 2011, and Azerbaijan joined the 120 countries supporting the global campaign. This year, the "Earth Hour" campaign will be implemented in several cities of the country with the support of the IDEA campaign. To support the protection of the planet, in Baku, the lights of iconic buildings such as the Maiden Tower, the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, Park Bulvar, Hilton Hotel, Bridge Plaza, and Azerbaijan Technical University in the "Icherisheher" State Historical and Architectural Reserve will be turned off for one hour. In addition to the capital, Ganja, Lankaran, and Lahij will also join the campaign.
The largest "Earth Hour" event in the country will take place on March 31 at 20:00 with the turning off of the lights of the Maiden Tower.
