A cleanup campaign was held at the Novxanı beach with the organization of IDEA.

In connection with the opening of the beach season, on May 30, a traditional coastal cleanup campaign was held, organized by the IDEA Public Union with the support of the Binagadi District Executive Authority.
Heydar Aliyev Foundation Vice-President, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva, as well as nearly 100 young volunteers, joined the campaign organized at the Novkhani beach.
The main purpose of the event is to promote adherence to cleanliness along the seashores, prevent the pollution of coastal areas with household waste, and encourage all young people to join efforts to protect the marine environment.
It should be noted that a public beach was specifically chosen for the campaign. Benches and sanitary facilities were installed in the area, a volleyball court was built, and waste bins were placed to ensure that people can enjoy free rest in a comfortable, clean, and safe environment.
The cleanup campaign, held under the slogan “Let the shores stay clean,” is the 11th mass event with the participation of youth along the Caspian Sea coastline.
During the event, participants equipped with the necessary sanitary supplies collected nearly 2 tons of waste from the beach while music played by DJs was sounding in the background. Afterwards, the waste was sorted, and the most commonly observed types of litter on beaches were identified. Special equipment was brought to the area to organize the waste collection process more efficiently.
IDEA Public Union regularly organizes cleanup campaigns along the Caspian coast, as well as in the Kura River and other rivers, together with local and international partners, with the aim of protecting, restoring, and preserving Azerbaijan’s and the region’s aquatic bioresources. Before the start of the beach season, the IDEA Public Union also plans to hold another cleanup campaign dedicated to World Environment Day, involving a large number of young people.
The IDEA Public Union calls on all nature lovers not to remain indifferent to the activities organized to address environmental issues and to contribute to the protection of the environment!
