IDEA representatives met with the participants of the "Green Energy Camp."

The "Green Energy Camp" for young ecologists continues.
The camp is organized jointly by IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action), a campaign initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations Union, the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources, and “Clean City” JSC, at the Gobustan Experimental Polygon and Training Center. The main goal of the project is to increase young ecologists’ awareness of alternative energy resources and to provide them with closer familiarity with alternative energy mechanisms and their principles of operation.
On March 24, a presentation of IDEA’s project “Mobilizing Azerbaijani Youth for the Rio+20 Summit” was held for the participants of the "Green Energy Camp." This project is implemented based on the memorandum of understanding signed between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and UNDP Azerbaijan.
The purpose of the project is to inform Azerbaijani youth about the summit and sustainable development concepts ahead of the UN Rio+20 Summit and to ensure their more active participation in this process.
During the two-hour meeting, representatives of the IDEA Campaign gave a lecture to the project participants on sustainable development, green economy, climate change and its mitigation, as well as the role of Azerbaijani youth in these processes. Participants were also informed about ways to save energy based on international experience through changes they can make in their daily lifestyles. The meeting then continued in a question-and-answer format.
