IDEA bird shelters have been installed in various areas of Baku.

In May 2013, the IDEA campaign joined an international initiative held on the occasion of World Migratory Bird Day. As part of the initiative, bird shelters were installed in various areas of the city of Baku.

The installation of IDEA bird shelters was carried out in Icherisheher, on the campus of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, along the Baku Boulevard, in Izmir Park, and in green areas surrounding the Academy of Sciences. In total, more than 100 bird shelters were installed.

The bird shelters were installed in Icherisheher with the participation of activists from the Irali Public Union, and on the ADA campus with the involvement of ADA students.

The installation of bird shelters, which play an important role in restoring the ecological balance of cities, was dedicated to International Migratory Bird Day, celebrated annually in May.

It should be noted that IDEA bird shelters had previously been installed in the cities of Bishkek and Moscow.

As is known, in May 2012, on the occasion of International Migratory Bird Day, the IDEA campaign announced a competition titled “Shelter Design for Birds” with the aim of increasing public involvement in the protection of migratory birds and fostering a caring attitude toward nature. More than 100 sketches were submitted to the competition.
