The award ceremony for the best essay competition among students organized by IDEA was held.

On April 27, 2012, the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) campaign hosted the award ceremony for the winners of the essay competition titled “Send Your Message to Rio+20” at the Hilton Baku Hotel.

The main goal of the essay competition was to engage Azerbaijani youth in the United Nations “Rio+20 Summit on Sustainable Development” to be held in June in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and to encourage these young people to reflect on the global problems the planet is currently facing and may face in the future.

The ceremony was attended by Niyazi Safarov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development; Intiqam Babayev, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports; and Firdovsi Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources.
