IDEA and the State Support Council for Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan have started cooperation

IDEA Public Union and the State Support Council for Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan have begun cooperation in the fields of environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable development.

To establish the legal basis for this cooperation, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the parties on May 11, 2016. According to the agreement, cooperation and joint projects between IDEA Public Union and the State Support Council for Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan are envisaged in areas such as strengthening ecological awareness and promoting environmental responsibility, protecting and increasing greenery, promoting recycling and efficient waste management, conserving and restoring biodiversity, enhancing environmental education, and other related fields.

IDEA Public Union was established in 2011 by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, with the aim of environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and promoting ecological sustainability. During its five years of activity, IDEA has implemented a number of important national and regional projects, organized international events, and established cooperative relations with leading national and international organizations operating in this field.

The State Support Council for Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 13, 2007. The Council supports the formation of a new model of relations in society, strengthens civil society institutions, increases civic initiative, promotes the activities of non-governmental organizations in protecting national interests, and finances programs and projects significant for the development of the state and society.
