IDEA and YARAT Contemporary Art Space 3D Graffiti Joint Project

A 3D graffiti project was held in one of the central parks of Baku city – Dədə Qorqud Park, as a joint initiative of IDEA Public Union and YARAT Contemporary Art Space.
The graffiti created within the framework of the project aims to inform the public about environmental issues through art and to draw people's attention to these problems.
As a promotion of a new field of activity for young artists, the ground-level graffiti artwork, a first in Azerbaijan, reflects the animals included in the "Big Five of the Caucasus" and the importance of their protection.
It is worth recalling that in 2012, on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of IDEA Public Union, a project aimed at the protection of animal species inhabiting Azerbaijan and facing the threat of extinction – the "Big Five of the Caucasus" – was launched. This five includes the brown bear, imperial eagle, gray wolf, gazelle, and Caucasian leopard.
It should be noted that the artwork currently exhibited in Dədə Qorqud Park was created in 3D format over 5 days by graffiti artists invited from the United Kingdom – Eduard Shiron, James Titchner, and Julian Fetin. Alongside our foreign guests, local Azerbaijani graffiti artists also showcase works reflecting the ecological problems of the Caspian Sea and the "Say No to Tree Cutting" program jointly initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA Public Union.
You can closely explore the ground-level 3D graffiti artworks over a period of 6 months.
