IDEA and YARAT created a work of art from waste.

The IDEA Public Union (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection), led by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and the “YARAT!” Contemporary Art Space have carried out a joint project called “From Waste to Art.” Within the project, more than 3,000 used plastic bottles were collected in Baku, and a decorative Christmas tree was created from them on Samed Vurgun Street in the capital ahead of the New Year.
This decorative Christmas tree was assembled by British specialists Nicholas Blake Sayers and Glendon Michael Casey, who are known worldwide for creating art from waste and whose handmade works have attracted great interest at exhibitions in the USA, Scotland, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and other countries. Many volunteers also participated in the project.
The artwork, which is 7 meters high and 4.2 meters in diameter, demonstrates the possibility of obtaining artificial Christmas trees without cutting down trees planted in forests and parks and without harming the environment, using alternative methods.
It should be noted that the bottles used to create the tree were provided by the company “Pepsi Azerbaijan.”
