On April 4, 2015, Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, received representatives of the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA).

During the meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Huseyngulu Baghirov, the guests were provided with detailed information about the activities of the IDEA Public Union and the projects it has implemented, and it was noted that environmental awareness is being expanded in the country.

The meeting also included detailed discussions on implementing mutual cooperation with the Federation in the fields of environmental education and environmental art, as well as the possibilities for joint projects at both national and international levels.

It should be noted that the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation was established in 1932. The Federation, represented on five continents, brings together more than 80 organizations from 50 countries and over 2.5 million people. The main goals of the Federation are the development of mountaineering worldwide, the promotion of safe and ethical practices in the field, and contributing to environmental protection. The Federation is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as an international body representing climbing and mountaineering sports.
