Leyla Aliyeva met with UN Goodwill Ambassador Vyacheslav Fetisov.

On June 17, a meeting was held between Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, and Vyacheslav Fetisov, Goodwill Ambassador of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and legendary hockey player, who was visiting our country.

During the meeting, issues related to environmental protection, combating climate change and sustainable development, as well as local and regional efforts and initiatives in this regard, particularly the efforts aimed at preserving the biological resources of the Caspian Sea, were discussed.

Leyla Aliyeva informed the UN official about the achievements IDEA has attained in recent years, the projects currently being implemented, and future plans.

The parties also exchanged views on the activities they carry out as UN Goodwill Ambassadors on environmental and sustainable development issues, as well as on prospects for cooperation.
