The yard was inaugurated in the Khatai district with the participation of Leyla Aliyeva.

As part of the “Our Yard” project implemented by IDEA Public Union, the next renovated yard was opened for residents on October 11. The updated yard is located at 9, 11, 13, 17 Məzahir Rüstəmov Street in the Xətai district of Baku and covers a neighborhood with 2,300 residents.

At the opening of the yard, Heydar Aliyev Foundation Vice-President, founder and head of IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva participated, including in the mass tree planting held during the event. Leyla Aliyeva familiarized herself with the landscaping work carried out in the yard, spoke with residents, and took pictures with them.

In the newly renovated yard, the ease of movement for people with disabilities and limited health capabilities was taken into account, various sports facilities were installed for all age groups to support children's development, enable young people to spend their leisure time efficiently, and cultivate a habit of regular sports. Football, basketball, chess courts, and playgrounds for children were created, and a bicycle path was built. Thirteen gazebos were constructed in the yard, and benches, trash bins, bird nests, and cat houses were installed.

Taking into account the wishes and interests of the residents, new lighting poles and security cameras were installed in the yard, the facades, roofs, and entrances of buildings were fully renovated, and a new water line was laid. In addition to restoring the existing greenery in the yard, 600 trees were planted in compliance with special quarantine rules.

Neighborhood resident Namig Mirzayev expressed his gratitude for the construction of a large nest for his pigeons, saying: “Pigeons have long settled in our yard. Their previous place was small and lacked ventilation. We are grateful that a beautiful environment has been created for them. Their space is spacious, and the nests are comfortable. We have 80 pigeons. We are trying to increase their number by using the available space. We inform the children about them and explain that they are a symbol of peace. During events, we release them into the sky as a symbol of peace.”

Teacher Naibə Jafarova, who has lived in the neighborhood for nearly twenty years, stated that the renovation of the previously very neglected yard, with the installation of sports grounds and entertainment areas for children, brings joy to both adults and children: “During the landscaping work, all age groups, including people with limited health capabilities, were taken into account. In the evenings, we can go to the yard with peace of mind, walk in the open air, sit in the gazebo, and chat. Children enjoy the entertainment areas created for them. They play football, chess, and basketball. Trees have also been planted in the yard. This not only beautifies the yard but also contributes to the health of neighborhood residents. I thank Leyla Aliyeva, founder and head of IDEA Public Union, for creating such an environment.”

Pensioner Khan Shamseddinov noted that although he has lived in the neighborhood for 20 years, the yard had never been so well maintained before. He said: “We had heard that under Leyla Aliyeva’s initiative, many yards were renovated and made available to residents as part of the ‘Our Yard’ project. We are very happy that one of the yards renovated under the project was ours. Last year, our President liberated Karabakh, bringing us great joy. This year, we are fortunate to experience the joy of our yard’s renovation. I am grateful to President Ilham Aliyev and his family members for their benevolent work, which brings happiness to the people, and for the attention and care they show to the public.”

It should be noted that the main goal of the “Our Yard” project is to make Baku yards ecologically clean and well-maintained, restore greenery, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.
