A sports playground was put into operation on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva.

On March 5, on the occasion of Physical Education and Sports Day, the official opening of the outdoor sports ground, established in the new boulevard section of the Seaside National Park, took place on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union.

The mentioned sports ground is the first facility built within the framework of the Street Workout project jointly implemented by the IDEA Public Union and the CAVAN Youth Movement.

Taking into account the special standards of the Street Workout sport, the ground has been equipped to provide suitable conditions for athletes and our compatriots with physical disabilities to train comfortably.

During the opening ceremony, Yusuf Mammadaliyev, Head of the Youth Policy and Sports Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, and Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzade highlighted the importance of such projects in raising a healthy generation. The Olympic, World, and European champions of Azerbaijan who attended the event highly appreciated this initiative and expressed their deep gratitude to Leyla Aliyeva on behalf of all sports enthusiasts.

It should be noted that Leyla Aliyeva’s main goal in implementing this project in Azerbaijan is to support the country’s sports policy by promoting a healthy lifestyle. In general, raising youth who are mentally and physically healthy is one of the priority areas of the IDEA Public Union, which is engaged in environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable development.

This sports ground, located on the seaside boulevard, the gem of our capital, will serve city residents and visitors, and belongs to the popular and rapidly developing Street Workout (street exercise) sport discipline.

In the future, the construction of similar sports grounds is planned in other parts of the country.
