A delegation led by Charles Clover, Chairman of the "Blue Sea Fund," has visited Azerbaijan.

On February 23, a delegation led by Charles Clover, Chairman of the world-renowned UK marine environmental protection organization “Blue Marine Foundation,” visited Azerbaijan at the invitation of Leyla Aliyeva, founder of the IDEA Public Union.
Within the framework of the visit, the first screening of the film “End of the Line,” produced by the “Blue Marine Foundation” and widely acclaimed by the international community, was held at the IDEA Public Union Resource Center with the participation of students from various higher education institutions. It should be noted that the IDEA Public Union plans to organize a public screening of the film for a wider audience. A corresponding announcement will be additionally published in the media.
After the screening, Charles Clover and other members of the “Blue Marine Foundation” provided detailed information about the activities of their organization and answered questions from the students.
During the visit, C. Clover met with Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of the IDEA Public Union, as well as with the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Huseyngulu Baghirov. During this meeting, the ecological situation of the Caspian Sea and issues related to the protection and restoration of its fauna were discussed. In this regard, the “Blue Marine Foundation” shared information on measures taken in marine environmental protection and the successes achieved. The parties expressed their agreement to continue cooperation and mutually beneficial dialogue.
The “Blue Marine Foundation” was established in 2010 with the aim of protecting the marine environment and preventing the threats faced by the oceans. The foundation’s mission is to achieve effective protection of 10 percent of the oceans by 2020 through the creation of marine reserves.
