The presentation of Europe’s famous “Cracking Art Group” works will take place at the Heydar Aliyev Center. The giant art pieces in the “Pop-art” genre will be exhibited in the park of the Heydar Aliyev Center starting from March 18.

It should be noted that in 1993, six European artists — Italian Renzo Nucara, Marco Veronese, Kicco, French Alex Angi, Belgian Carlo Rizzetti, and William Sweetlove — came together to create the “Cracking Art Group.” This movement directs all its efforts towards changing perceptions of contemporary art and creating innovation by applying social and ecological approaches in art.

Using giant, brightly colored animals made from recycled and easily disposable synthetic materials, the artists draw public attention to environmental issues. The “Cracking Art” works, on one hand, highlight ecological concerns and, on the other, demonstrate the application of new technologies.

With its creativity, the “Cracking Art Group” has conquered a number of cities worldwide to date. The mentioned works have been exhibited in New York, Sydney, Milan, and other cities.

This time, these art pieces will be made available to city residents and visitors in the park of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku. Conducted with the official partnership of IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) Public Association, the project aims to raise public awareness about solving ecological problems in Azerbaijan and protecting flora and fauna.

On March 18, the traditional “Samani” exhibition will also be organized in the Center’s park. During the exhibition held on the eve of Novruz, contemporary art samples — samanis — will be displayed. This exhibition at the Heydar Aliyev Center will allow visitors to share the festive spirit of Novruz and get acquainted with artworks presenting a modern interpretation of Novruz traditions by the artists.
