Bird shelters that won IDEA’s design competition have been installed in Moscow.

In accordance with the sketch of the winner of IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) campaign’s “Shelter Design for Birds” competition, bird shelters have been installed in the botanical garden of Moscow State University.
The installation of bird shelters, which play an important role in restoring the ecological balance of cities, was dedicated to the International Migratory Bird Day, celebrated annually.
It should be noted that a similar initiative was held earlier in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
As a result of anthropogenic processes occurring in the modern world, the rapid increase of global environmental problems on our planet is causing the degradation of ecosystems and the extinction of plant and animal species.
Such a rapid decline in biodiversity also affects bird species, as it does all components of nature.
As is known, the IDEA campaign launched the “Shelter Design for Birds” competition in May 2012 on the occasion of International Migratory Bird Day to increase public involvement in the protection of migratory birds and to foster a special caring attitude of people toward nature. More than 100 works were submitted to the competition.
