The Next Clean-Up Campaign Was Held

In connection with the opening of the beach season, on June 5 – “World Environment Day” – a traditional clean-up campaign was held at the Buzovna beach area, organized by the IDEA Public Union and “Clean City” JSC.

The campaign was organized in support of the UN’s “Global Cooperation on Marine Litter” program.

Under the slogan “Keep the Shores Clean!”, the event was attended by over 100 volunteers, with the main goal of preventing pollution and littering of coastal areas, as well as raising public awareness about maintaining cleanliness on the seashores. Neglecting cleanliness on the shores not only causes sanitary issues but also harms the marine environment, including its flora and fauna.

Equipped with the necessary sanitary supplies, the participants sorted the collected waste, identified the most commonly observed litter on the beaches, and handed over all the waste via special vehicles to the Baku Balakhani Solid Waste Sorting Plant.

The IDEA Public Union calls on everyone, considering the upcoming beach season, to maintain cleanliness in coastal areas and contribute to the fight for the protection of the marine environment!
