A cleaning campaign was held at the "Ancient Ganja" archaeological complex.

On November 4, a cleanup event was held at the “Ancient Ganja” archaeological complex, organized by the IDEA Public Union, the “Cavan” Youth Movement Public Union, and the Ganja City Executive Authority, with the support of the “European Youth Capital-2016” Public Union and the Ganja City Youth and Sports Main Department.
It should be noted that the “Ancient Ganja” area has been declared a Reserve for the purpose of protecting the historically defined territory and landscape, as well as preserving and restoring its unique character. The area of Ancient Ganja contains cultural layers dating from the 9th to the 17th centuries, as well as many valuable works of art. Remains of numerous significant structures, including medieval fortress walls, bridges, the Imamzadeh mausoleum, a millstone (12th century), the Ganja fortress wall, the Jomard Qassab mausoleum, and the Ganja fortress (17th century), are located within and preserved by the Ganja State Historical and Cultural Reserve.
The purpose of the event was to clean the Ancient Ganja archaeological complex of household waste, contribute to the protection of archaeological monuments of scientific, historical, and cultural significance in the area, safeguard the environment of the Reserve, ensure that our historical treasures are passed on to future generations in a healthy and clean state, promote adherence to cleanliness in public spaces, and engage all youth in the fight for environmental protection.
More than 400 volunteers from Ganja city participated in the event. During the cleanup, participants, equipped with necessary sanitary supplies, collected and sorted the waste. Special machinery was also brought to the area to organize the waste collection process more efficiently.
Considering the importance of public awareness activities in the fight against environmental problems, the IDEA Public Union, together with local and international partners, regularly organizes such cleanup events. To protect, increase, and conserve the bioresources of the Caspian Sea, numerous cleanup activities are held annually along the Caspian coast, as well as in the rivers of our country, with the participation of many volunteers.
The IDEA Public Union expresses its gratitude to all participants who volunteered for environmental protection and showed special activity, as well as to the institutions that supported the event. The Public Union calls on everyone to act sensitively towards nature, avoid polluting the environment, and take care of our natural resources.
