A panel titled “Responsibility for a Clean Future” was held at RAGT’s annual forum.
The two-day forum of the Russian Azerbaijani Youth Organization (RAGT) concluded in Moscow. On the second day of the forum, discussions were held in three sections: "Responsibility for a Clean Future," "Internet, Social Media, and Youth," and "There Is No Alternative to Multiculturalism."
In the "Responsibility for a Clean Future" section, ecology experts from Azerbaijan and Russia spoke to the youth. Aleksey Svişşev, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Economics and Commerce at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations; academic Urkhan Alakbarov, Rector of the State Administration Academy under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Karina Khudenko, Head of the Charity Committee and leader of PwC’s ecology programs; Vladimir Krever, coordinator of the WWF biodiversity program; ecologist Firuzə Sultanzadə, head of the "EkoSfera" Social-Ecology Center; and Rza Diqqəti, photographer for the journal "National Geographic," spoke about the contemporary nature of ecological problems facing the international community and the significant role of various ecological organizations.
During the dialogue with Azerbaijani youth, the importance of raising young people with a caring attitude toward the environment, the necessity of addressing various aspects of ecological responsibility among youth, and engaging them in the international ecological movement were highlighted. The speakers highly appreciated the activities of the IDEA International Ecology Campaign, established by the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva, as well as the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between IDEA and WWF, the World Wide Fund for Nature.
Forum participants noted during the section discussions that they support RAGT’s large-scale activities and the work of Leyla Aliyeva, who has united Azerbaijani youth into a single organization that plays a very significant role today in the development of relations between countries.
Representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the head of the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation Farhad Hajiyev, representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Nigar Akhundova, the Humanitarian Affairs Advisor at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation, and representatives of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress participated in the sections’ proceedings.
