A fawn of one of the noble deer released into Shahdag National Park within the framework of the Reintroduction project has been born.

The fawn weighs approximately 5–6 kilograms. The mother and her offspring are kept in an enclosed aviary in the Ismayilli section of Shahdag National Park to protect them from predators.

It should be noted that the noble deer, listed in Azerbaijan's “Red Book,” historically inhabited the forests of the Greater and Lesser Caucasus, as well as the Talysh Mountains, and the Tugay forests along the Kura and Aras rivers.

Currently, noble deer populations are found only in the Greater Caucasus. Considering the species’ potential role in the development of forest ecosystems, restoring its population is of great importance for our nature.
