A cleanup campaign was held on the occasion of World Environment Day.

The main purpose of the cleanup campaign held at Corat Beach is to promote cleanliness along the seashores, prevent coastal areas from being littered with household waste, and engage young people in the protection of the marine environment.

During the event, participants, equipped with the necessary sanitary supplies, sorted and collected waste on the beach. All waste was delivered to the Balakhani Solid Household Waste Sorting Plant.

IDEA Public Union, together with local and international partners, regularly organizes cleanup campaigns on the Caspian shores, as well as on the Kura and other rivers, to protect, preserve, and increase the region’s water bioresources.

In addition, at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, IDEA Public Union cleaned and improved neglected coastal areas, and created free public beaches in the Shikh, Goradil, Novkhani, Buzovna, Pirshagi, and Sahil settlements of the capital.

Along with ensuring proper conditions for leisure time in coastal zones, the creation of public beaches that are exemplary in cleanliness, safety, and comfort aims to promote environmental and social responsibility in society.
