On March 17, within the framework of the “Ecological Laboratory for Children” project jointly implemented by the IDEA Public Union and the “Sevimli Bala” organization, the next laboratory training was held at the IDEA Resource Center.

The training, organized on the eve of spring and the Novruz holiday, was devoted to the protection of soil ecosystems, which is the 15th Sustainable Development Goal of the UN, as well as to the awakening of nature, flowering of plants, the revival observed in the animal kingdom, and other natural phenomena characteristic of the spring season.

During the training, children were introduced to forests and their role in living nature, the negative effects of forest destruction and tree cutting on nature, the protection of terrestrial ecosystems, and ways of their restoration and sustainable use.

The “Little Ecologists” made birdhouses from plastic bottles, participated in experiments related to the proper planting of seeds, as well as in several experiments reflecting Novruz traditions. Special coloring sheets were distributed to the participants of the “Eco Laboratory” to explain the UN Sustainable Development Goals in a simpler and more entertaining way and to help them understand them more easily.

The March laboratory proved to be remarkable not only by giving children an interesting and fun day but also by raising their awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals and helping them understand the role and importance of humans in the protection of soil ecosystems.
