On January 27, within the framework of the “Ecological Laboratory for Children” project jointly implemented by the IDEA Public Union and the “Sevimli Bala” organization, the first laboratory training of the year was held at the IDEA Resource Center.

The trainings planned for 2018 were intended to be organized on topics aligned with the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Elana Seyidli, an independent expert from the UN Development Programme, with which the IDEA Public Union closely collaborates, participated as a special guest of the January laboratory and gave a presentation to children on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

During the training, “young ecologists” were provided with extensive information on ways to combat climate change and its effects, the causes and consequences of global warming, the greenhouse effect, and more. Additionally, children took part in a series of laboratory experiments to help them better understand the changes occurring on our planet related to climate change.

The January laboratory was notable not only for providing children with an interesting and entertaining day but also for increasing their awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals and familiarizing them with climate changes and their contributing factors.
