“Green Marathon” tree planting campaigns - Khocasən settlement

Heydar Aliyev Foundation Vice President, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva initiated the next tree-planting campaigns within the “Republic-wide Greening Marathon” (“Green Marathon”).

On April 24, during the campaign held in the Khojasan settlement of Baku and jointly organized by the IDEA Public Union and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Economy also participated. During the event joined by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, 1200 trees of various species suitable for the soil-climate conditions of the area were planted together with volunteers.

The main purpose of the “Green Marathon” project is to increase green areas, encourage tree planting, and contribute to the protection of the environment, including the enhancement of our country’s floral biodiversity, as well as raising awareness about the preservation of greenery.

The IDEA Public Union, which attaches special importance to increasing greenery — having an invaluable role in improving the overall ecological situation and minimizing the effects of climate change — continues large-scale tree-planting activities in other regions of our country together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

Project partners, who aim to plant nearly 1 million trees across the country during the spring and autumn planting seasons, call on everyone to support this beneficial initiative and unite for the green future of our nature.
