“Green Marathon” tree planting campaigns – Khodjasan settlement and Tartar district

Under the initiative of Leyla Əliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, mass tree-planting campaigns are successfully continuing across the country within the framework of the “Nationwide Greening Marathon” (“Green Marathon”).

On April 9, 1,225 trees of various species were planted in Tartar District and the Khocasən settlement of Baku with the participation of local volunteer youth, taking into account the area’s soil and climate conditions.

The main goal of the project, organized jointly by the IDEA Public Union and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, is to increase green spaces, promote tree planting, contribute to environmental protection, enhance the country’s flora biodiversity, and raise awareness about the preservation of greenery.

The IDEA Public Union, giving special importance to increasing green spaces that play an irreplaceable role in improving the overall ecological situation and minimizing the impacts of climate change, continues large-scale tree-planting activities in other regions of the country together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

The project partners, aiming to plant nearly one million trees nationwide during the spring and autumn seasons, call on everyone to support this initiative and unite for the green future of our nature.
