A tree-planting campaign was held in Quba within the framework of the "Green Marathon"

Within the framework of the "Green Marathon" initiative organized by the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Association, Leyla Aliyeva, large-scale tree planting and forest restoration activities continue on the country’s open forest fund lands.
Thus, on April 14, with the participation of eco-volunteers, 1,650 maple seedlings were planted in an open area within the Alpan forestry of the Quba Regional Forestry Center.
It should be noted that during the campaign carried out jointly by the IDEA Public Association and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the plan is to plant forest tree species, sow seeds, and conduct forest restoration activities on 1,000 hectares of the country’s open forest fund lands during the spring and autumn planting seasons.
The main goal of the initiative is to expand forest areas, promote tree planting, contribute to environmental protection, including the increase of the country’s floral biodiversity, and raise awareness about the preservation of greenery.
The large-scale tree planting events to establish new forests across the country will also contribute to fulfilling the country’s commitments regarding the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and to the initiatives it has joined.
