Within the framework of the “Green Marathon”, a tree-planting campaign was held in Qubadli

Under the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, a tree-planting campaign was held in the Qubadli district within the framework of the “Republic-wide Greening Marathon” (“Green Marathon”).

On April 13, a total of 750 trees — including acacia, plane, and mulberry — as well as seeds were planted in the Muganli village of the district, in an area where greenery had been destroyed.

It should be noted that the campaigns carried out in the territories liberated from occupation are of great importance in terms of contributing to the restoration of damaged green areas and revitalizing the nature of these territories.

The main purpose of the project, jointly organized by the IDEA Public Union and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, is to expand green areas, promote tree planting, contribute to environmental protection, including the enhancement of the country’s floral biodiversity, and support awareness-raising on the protection of greenery.

The IDEA Public Union, which attaches special importance to increasing green areas — invaluable in improving the overall environmental situation and minimizing the impacts of climate change — continues large-scale tree-planting activities in other districts of our country together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

The project partners, who aim to plant nearly 1 million trees across the country during the spring and autumn seasons, call on everyone to support this initiative and unite for the sake of a greener future for our nature.
