“Green Marathon” - Khodjasan Settlement and Tovuz District

Under the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, mass tree-planting campaigns are successfully continuing across the country within the framework of the “Nationwide Greening Marathon” (“Green Marathon”).

On April 8, with the participation of volunteer youth, 600 trees were planted in the Khocasan settlement of Baku and 1,250 trees of various species suitable for the soil and climate conditions were planted in the Tovuz district.

The main goal of the project, organized jointly by the IDEA Public Union and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, is to increase green spaces, promote tree planting, contribute to environmental protection, including enhancing the biodiversity of our country’s flora, and raise awareness about the preservation of greenery.

The IDEA Public Union, which attaches special importance to increasing green spaces that play an irreplaceable role in improving the overall ecological situation and minimizing the impacts of climate change, continues large-scale tree-planting events in other districts of the country together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

The project partners, aiming to plant nearly 1 million trees across the country during the spring and autumn seasons, call on everyone to support this initiative and unite for the green future of our nature.
