The “Spring Yard” project, dedicated to the greening of school yards and organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the IDEA Public Union, has successfully concluded.

Within the framework of the project, students planted nearly 12,000 trees and shrubs in schools, cared for the greenery, carried out community work in the school yards, and implemented other landscaping activities. Special birdhouses were presented by the IDEA Public Union to each educational institution participating in the project.

The Ministry of Education and the IDEA Public Union held a competition among 26 general education institutions participating in the project in Baku, Ganja, and Sumgait. According to the competition conditions, the schools with the neatest and most beautifully arranged “spring yard” were selected and declared winners, and during the solemn ceremony held on June 8, they were awarded special diplomas and valuable gifts.

The “Spring Yard” project covered a total of 15 higher education institutions and 26 secondary education institutions in Baku, Ganja, and Sumgait. This initiative not only positively influenced the ecological condition of educational institutions and the health of students but also contributed to deepening students’ ecological knowledge and fostering a caring attitude towards nature.
